Violence in sports

Sport have become too violent. At present there are many sports that by their nature are violent and refers to physical acts committed in contact sports such as mixed Martial Arts, Boxing or American football, between others, where we see live images the field, on television or the Internet, as players blows right and left, they are "justified" given. Although other sports that should not be violent, and yet they are, as in the case of Soccer, Ice Hockey and Rugby beyond the normal levels of contact expected while playing the sport. Many modern sports have become less tolerant of bloodshed than past versions, although many violent aspects of these sports remain. Players sometimes resort to violence, in hopes of injuring and intimidating opponents. Such incidents may be part of a strategy developed by coaches or players.

Whether you decide or not to go see a game field, or if you choose to see it in the comfort of your home on either television or the Internet, you must be prepared because violence can see it anytime and anywhere: among players, among fans, fans to the players or the referees, etc. Violence can be verbal, physical or psychological. These acts of violence can include intentional attempts to injure a player by another player or coach, but can also include threats of physical harm or actual physical harm sustained by players or coaches by those engaging in spectating of sports.

According to some Psychologists, there are three major theories on the cause of violence in sports. The first theory affirms that humans have an instinct for violence, developed during a time when early human ancestors had to resort to violence and aggressiveness to survive and reproduce. The second theory, sociological aspects related, suggest that deals with the sociological aspects of violence in sports, stating that sports are "mock battles" which can become actual battles due to their competitive nature. And the last one, the psychological theory states that aggression is caused by frustration; it is situational. Frustration results when one's efforts to reach a particular goal are blocked.

Anyway, violence in sports should not be allowed. Its consequences can be disastrous, from slight damage to players, referees and fans, serious (such as total disability) and even death. Personally, sport I do not like and for that reason I not practice any sport. I think it is good and important for everyone; whether you practice or enjoy watching it, but I think so justified or unjustified violence no it is good for anyone, especially for children inasmuch as they can grow up thinking that violence is normal or justified in any area of their lives.
